The standard describes two methods for evaluating the effect of rapid temperature changes on finished panels forming furniture elements. The scope is to assess any alteration of the surface under test and the possible interactions among the combination of two or more materials.
The methods are suitable for both a comparison of panels with different coating systems and as a test to ensure that a given level of performance is maintained or achieved.
The standard applies to furniture surfaces. The standard does not apply to surfaces made of leather, leather imitations, natural and synthetic fabrics.
