The standard establishes the criteria for verifying that the safety requirements of the systems for the evacuation of combustion products of in-service installations powered by solid and/or liquid fuels are fulfilled, regardless of the time of their installation, in order to determine whether the verified part of the plant can continue to be used in its current state, without compromising safety.
The standard deals exclusively with the aspects of verification and therefore it cannot be used as a design standard, nor as an installation standard or for retrofitting.
