This standard applies to safety nets and to their accessories, used in situations where there is a risk of falling objects from a height. They are intended to catch and contain objects with the aim of providing protection to workers and to people who stop and/or transit under a dangerous area.
The standard specifies minimum requirements to protect workers and people from the possible effects resulting from the penetration of objects.
It specifies safety requirements, test methods and conditions for use and it is based on the performance characteristics of polypropilene fibres.
This standard does not apply to safety nets considered in UNI EN 1263-1:2015, UNI EN 1263-2:2015, UNI 11808-1: 2021 and UNI 11808-2: 2021.
