The standard applies to chemical, petrochemical and oil refinery furnaces at a maximum allowable pressure greater than 0,5 bar, included in the scope of the EU directive 2014/68/EU (PED).
The standard provides directions and guidance for the design and production of such equipment in order to minimize the risks depending on pressure and temperature, as per the aforementioned directive. It also gives recommendations for monitoring and supervision during operation
