The standard provides guidelines for configuring anchor systems on the roofs and for their use for protecting against falls from a height through fall arrest systems. The standard does not provide criteria for the installation of collective means of protection, which are eventually used in conjunction.
It also provides information that can be used to prepare the document for risk assessment and the subsequent definition of preventive and protective measures and personal protective equipment (Roofing Technical Paper), as required by the legislation in force.
The standard indicates a methodology for assessing risks in work at height when fall arrest systems are used against the risk of falling.
The standard does not exempt from the need to compare the information which are concerned with the real conditions and protection exigencies of each specific work environment.
The task of protecting against residual risks that are not arising from the risks of falling from height, must be entrusted to an additional personal protective equipment.
