This standard defines the criteria for the installation of façade components (clenching and its controlled mechanical ventilation and dumpster device) and provides guidance on sound insulation verification of the facade from external noise.
The standard applies to existing buildings and new buildings subject to cases of airborne sound propagation.
The standard also applies to interior doors and windows for separation between environments that require noise protection.
Appendix A of the standard is a reference document for the application of Presidential Decree no. 459 of November 18, 1998 (art. 5) and Presidential Decree no. 142 of March 30, 2004 (art. 6 and 7), relating to provisions for the containment and prevention of noise pollution deriving from vehicular and rail traffic, by means of direct interventions on receivers.
