This standard applies to raw-secondary materials as defined in UNI 10667-1, obtained from the recycling of plastic materials from industrial residues and / or post-consumer materials.
The standard defines the requirements and test methods for heterogeneous mixtures to be used alone or mixed with other materials in metallurgical and iron and steel processes, for one or more of the following functions:
a) as a reducing and / or foaming agent;
b) as a protective agent of the elements to be preserved during the melting process;
c) as a vector of reactants in redox reactions;
d) for the production of mixtures typically used for the contribution of carbon and hydrogen to the process (e.g. coke)
